A Sense of the Cosmos

There perhaps exist miraculous happenings
Was it only my adolescent fantasies
Or was I responding to some deeper dream
I cannot but feel that in my dreams of magic there were echoes of an intensely serious purpose
The teachings of the East come to us with a call for inwardness
We in the West respond as creatures born for action
I desired the magical – something so new, a reality so vibrant and free
so miraculous as to dissolve all fear.

This “Poem From Page 143” comes from Marilyn Michael, a friend and someone who has not only had many articles and stories published but has helped others achieve the same. Her poem is from page 143 of the book “A Sense of Cosmos” by Jacob Needleman.
