A Kind Man

I require patience.
Money, it is not silent.
Employment that smiled.

“What if the one question we wanted to answer about a person before committing to them for a lifetime is: “Are they kind?” So goes one of the themes of “A Kind Man,” a lovely little book that allows the reader to consider what it means to be calm, decent, and steady. On a personal note, I focused my poem, which is really a haiku, on something I am currently working on – the challenge I have for getting paid a living wage to bring good into the world. One more thing: I once used this book as the focusing agent for an online kindness class.” —Andy Smallman
