I’ve read “To Kill a Mockingbird” several times and a calm comes over me every time I do. Reading the book aloud to my youngest daughter is among my most cherished parenting memories. Christmas that year, she ordered for me a T-shirt that said “Hey, Boo,” perhaps the most thoughtful gift I’ve ever received. On page 143, Dill has run away, to be found by Jem and Scout. Jem brings Attitcus into the picture and we get a further glimpse as to how much Jem and Scout trust and respect their father. — Andy Smallman
